Patreon May 2021 critique by Labanya

Hello there! Hope things are well there, here things are nice, can’t say very bad, even though they look very grim.

I have just finished reading the May bunch of Patreon books created/written by Sharmishtha Basu, sharing my honest opinion about them, hoping they will bring a few much needed patrons her way!

1. Agnilipi [writing/letter of fire]: It contains 10 gorgeous photographs taken by Sharmishtha Basu. They are pleasing and pretty to my eyes. My favorite is the final shot of flamingo spreading its wings.

2. Agnipat [portrait of fire]: It contains 10 paintings of butterflies, dragonflies and one painting of firefly. Quite well painted, I love butterflies, who does not? So, loved the book for sure!

3. Agnimalya [garland of fire]: This book contains a set of mixed fantasy stories. My favorite was “the delay” absolute loved the twist in this sci-fi fantasy. “Vampire in love” was fun too.

4. Coming Kingdom: this one was a fantastic read, I thoroughly enjoyed the stories, all but one were fantasy, the one that was not fantasy was really thought provoking!

5. SBPnB [Sharmishtha Basu’s Pen n Brush]: It contains 10 illustrated poems, the paintings are pretty and the poems are really good

Will return next month with critiques, till then stay safe!

yours truly,

Labanya

Welcome to the Poush 1426 review of Agnishatdal! Here are a few of the outstanding features for this issue… First there’s… … Let us Begin… Our Virtual Trip to India This painting shows a young woman leaning, her back to a tree, while a small fishing boat travels past on the river in the background. Bharatendu Harishchandra So, here is one whose linguistic influence was deep and far-reaching. I must look for any published works of his that remain in print, and I suspect that these are more than a few sources I can look on. Agnimalya July 2018 in patreon for my patrons

A piece from The Soul Devourers Now available in shoptly as Agnimalya Book 9 https://shoptly.com/sharmishthabasu "The names that our parents gave us were Agni (Fire) and Vari (water), yours was Agni, mine Vari, based on our natures, of course; I don’t think you would mind if I call you Agni." Her sister asked. She shrugged. "Who are these people?" she asked. "These people were once human beings. Their greed was too strong, so strong it tempted them into selling their soul to the devil. There is a temple in Gajmahal, where they worship the devil, and have been for centuries. These soul devourers –– yes, that’s what they are called because that’s what they become capable of devouring souls–– souls of their victims are their life-force. That keeps them alive, as some of them are centuries old. Their head priest was one of the first priests of the temple, and has done it for centuries now." "These p
